New “Teams” feature in Holiday Manager means you can delegate the holiday angst

Since we launched Holiday Manager in July, we’ve been overwhelmed by your fantastic feedback on how it is improving your annual leave processes. We always love to hear how we can streamline and adapt our products to ensure we’re helping to give the right support that’s tailored to your needs, and we’ve heard consistently that you needed a function within Holiday Manager to organise your employees within their teams.

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to bring this feature to life and it’s now available within the HUB.

The Teams feature allows you to add multiple teams to Holiday Manager in the HUB, ensuring that each staff member sees only what they need to, and requests are streamlined, so they can see at a glance whether their leave is likely to be approved.

Adding Teams to Holiday Manager makes it more flexible and increases the ability to delegate authority.

Using the Teams feature will streamline your staff holiday planning and make holiday approval a doddle.

So, how do you know whether using the Teams feature is right for your practice?

If you currently allow some of your management team to manage parts of the process for some members of the practice, then Teams is the function for you. You can still allow full Holiday Manager access for those members of your practice who deal with absence management for the whole practice, but managing annual leave for specific groups within the practice is now much easier.

Simply set up a Team by clicking on “Teams” in the left-hand menu, then click the green “Add Team” button on the right-hand side.

A new screen will open, and you can choose who to add to your team. Add team members and a team leader(s), and if you want to delegate sickness management further, you can add HR Absence Management rights for team leaders.

Once you’ve added your team members, they’ll only see the annual leave and absence for their team in the calendar, which means they can quickly see whether their leave request is likely to be approved.

Team leaders can edit and approve holiday allowances and requests, and all the changes made are auditable through the change log in the individual’s holiday record. Team leaders will be able to swap between teams in the calendar for each team they manage.

Adding HR Absence Management rights gives team leaders viewing and editing rights over other types of absence, including sickness, and again changes are auditable.

For those who have HUB admin rights or overall Holiday Manager rights, you’ll still be able to see all the absences, but you’ll also be able to narrow your calendar view by team, so you can see at a glance what staffing looks like at any time.

Delegating holiday management and other absence management means that you can get on with the day job, and someone else can worry about the cover.

Holiday Manager is designed to make your life easy – and it’s free! – so head over to the HUB, where you’ll find Holiday Manager ready and waiting for you. If you don’t yet have a HUB account, you can sign up for one here (takes 60 seconds) and we’ll get you started.
