Practice Manager Recruitment Service
Practice Index provides a nationwide, professional and comprehensive practice manager recruitment service for GP practices of all types and sizes. The service is run by Pete Grantham, Patricia Gray and Moira Cernik.
Pete is a recruitment consultant with over 20 years’ experience in practice and business management. He has a wealth of knowledge, gained from managing a variety of practices, all with different needs and priorities. Patricia is a HR professional with over 15 years’ experience of recruiting GP practice managers, business managers and GPs and was a Practice Business Manager herself for 11 years. Moira has a passion for primary care and has worked as a Practice Manager and Managing Partner for over 15 years. Pete, Patricia and Moira cover all areas of the UK and have successfully undertaken over 150 practice manager recruitment projects.
The Recruitment Service
Our cost-effective practice manager recruitment service includes the following:
- Visiting the practice and meeting with the GP partners to discuss the role (e.g. practice manager or business manager), advising on the right pay and conditions and agreeing the key dates
- Preparation of a practice profile, job description and personal specification, as well as advertising
- Placing advertisements in the right media (we can advise on the most cost-effective media sources and free websites including the Practice Index’s Jobs Board)
- Sending out information packs and application forms to prospective candidates and receiving back completed applications
- Assessing the applications and making suggestions for the shortlist
- Organising and running a two-stage interview process
- Providing the right selection tools and facilitating the final decision
- Ensuring the process is fair and objective to avoid any claim of discrimination
- Providing the offer letter, taking up references, reviewing the contract of employment, and providing ongoing advice regarding the appointment
Recruitment Service Fee
The practice management recruitment fee is very competitive and cost-effective at £4,250 + VAT, which is inclusive of all costs (except any advertising costs).
The fee is payable in two installments: 50% at the point of advertising and 50% at the end of the process.
A reduced service can also be provided, such as just organising the interviews. A quotation for the fee can be provided on request.
Should the process fail to find a suitable candidate or an offer is accepted by a candidate who subsequently withdraws, the process will be carried out again for a fee of £1500 + VAT.
In the unlikely event that the appointment does not work out and the contract is terminated on either side within the first three months of employment, the process will be repeated to find another manager for a fee of £1500 + VAT.
