Essential menopause eLearning for primary care

A shocking statistic from a recent study found that 18% of women suffering from menopause/perimenopause symptoms were planning on leaving their jobs because they were struggling and lacking support in their workplace.

In the UK, there are nine million women aged between 40 and 60 who could be experiencing some of the numerous symptoms of menopause or perimenopause. We shared an overview of the menopause in our blog here, which highlighted some of the struggles faced by women in their day-to day-lives and in their careers.

As Practice Managers, we have a responsibility to ensure that our team members are supported, and it’s important that everyone in the practice has an appreciation of the menopause and how it might affect their colleagues, patients and themselves. Not only does leaving menopausal issues unaddressed cause stress, upset and conflict, but losing valued staff results in recruiting and training costs.

Helping all of our team to feel valued and supported can improve wellbeing and job satisfaction, and we have worked alongside Clinic51, a GP-led Women’s Health and Menopause Clinic, to bring you a brand-new eLearning module “Understanding Menopause in the Workplace”, which is suitable for your entire practice team.

The course covers:

  • An overview of the menopause
  • An insight into the symptoms of the menopause
  • Discussion and tips on how to support your colleagues and team
  • Signposting to further useful resources

The course was reviewed by Clinic51, who offer evidence-based, holistic advice, guidance and treatment for women in midlife and beyond. To find out more or to book an appointment, please see their website.

Understanding Menopause in the Workplace is an online course delivered in the HUB. For existing Learning Package subscribers, this module is now available in your course list.
