What would you like to see in a national training programme for Practice and PCN Managers?

A role in primary care management is varied, exciting and demanding. Practice management requires a wealth of skills and knowledge unique to the position.  Training and development at a national level would help and support practice managers to excel as leaders.

If you had the opportunity to have some input into the future of national training and development in primary care management, what do you think you’d like to see?

NHS England and NHS Improvement National Primary Care Workforce Team are seeking your input in developing a national Training & Leadership Development Support Offer.

With a goal of providing a standardised approach to the development and training of Practice and PCN Managers, and an offering that reflects the core skills required to achieve the transformation and policy agenda, this represents a huge step forward in recognising the importance of the role of primary care manager.

NHSE&I hopes to develop a programme that ensures primary care managers are nationally recognised, supported and valued, and they are equipped with the skills required to deliver key strategic and operational objectives.

As a community of experienced PMs, with a wealth of knowledge, and breadth of skills under your belts, you are undoubtedly best placed to advise on what would make a great offering.  It’s your opportunity to share your opinions and aspirations for shaping the future of primary care management development.
