A Midlands district is celebrating the high quality of its GP services – which have all achieved high ratings from inspectors.
A practice in Wigston, Leicestershire, has become the 31st in the district to achieve “good” status from the Care Quality Commission.
The 31 practices are all in the East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group, which has a population of some 325,000 people.
The Wigston Central Surgery was praised by patients for offering “quick and easy” access to doctors and nurses.
Senior partner Dr Rakesh Desor said: “We’re really pleased to have been rated good by the CQC. This result reflects the excellent work of our team, who are committed to providing high-quality healthcare services for our patients.”
CCG head of primary care Jamie Barrett said: “This result is testament to the efforts of our practices working closely with the CCG over the last year.
“We look forward to continuing to strive to make further improvements for our patients in 2018.”
