The Government has moved into phase two, the ‘delay’ phase of its fight against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and has this week issued a statement that people should, where possible, enter a period of self-isolation.
With latest reported figures of 11,658 confirmed cases in the UK and 578 deaths* – it’s clear there is an uphill struggle ahead.
In primary care, the combination of increased workload, new ways of working and controlling the spread of the virus amongst ourselves, is an unprecedented challenge that will, no doubt, cause additional stress on top of dealing with normal daily routines.
At Practice Index, our aim is to provide you with the resources and tools to help make life in general practice easier. Whilst this pandemic continues to be put a strain on practices we have made our Hand hygiene and Mental health in the workplace eLearning courses available absolutely free of charge! The courses can, of course, be completed at home, on any device.
Imperative in reducing the spread of infection, our Hand Hygiene module covers advice on handwashing techniques as well as information on the safe and correct use of PPE. Your knowledge is assessed at the end with a quiz and a printable certificate upon completion.
Mental health in the workplace is the perfect module for you and your colleagues working in general practice during the current health crisis. The short course only takes about 30 minutes, and will help you to recognise if you or those you are working with are suffering from mental health concerns, as well as offering advice on how you can support each other.
If your practice already has a HUB account, you can login here to take the courses for free now.
If your practice is not yet signed up to the HUB, ask your Practice Manager to register here. We will then send them details on registering the whole team for free.
If you have any questions, or if there is anything else you feel we can do to provide support and help just let us know!
