The Medacy team are permanently employed by Medacy so you don’t need to worry about HR and each pharmacist is a member of The Medacy Practice, a unique support network of clinical pharmacists for sharing best practice and development and this enables the service to evolve and deliver ROI much more quickly than a directly employed lone pharmacist.

Access

Pharmacists can complete many of the medication-related tasks traditionally carried out by GPs. This frees up more GP time for the patient facing roles which improves access for patients.

Pharmacists are ideally placed to ensure that prescribing choices follow best practice guidance and that they are followed in practice via robust medication review processes and clinical audits.

Research has shown that there are 237 million medication related errors each year in the NHS. Having a dedicated medicines focused pharmacist will lower medication related risks in your practice.

The tasks undertaken under the service should be tasks previously carried out by GPs and the service costs will offer savings as against the equivalent costs of GP time

We are very pleased with our Pharmacist, Amandeep. He has fitted in as one of the practice team. He works with the CCG and PSUK to look at safe prescribing that can save money. Amandeep is also supporting the dispensary team as we work towards the introduction of Proscript
