An introduction to Care Navigation – Online at learner’s own pace – 45 minutes
This short course provides an overview of the role of the care navigator, the principles of care navigation within general practice and concludes with a 10 question quiz.
Care Navigation – Virtual Training session via Zoom or MS Teams – 1.5 hours
We discuss the role of the care navigator, the principles of care navigation, the competency framework (including broad level descriptors), patient perception (including resistance), confidentiality and the significance of effective communication (including telephone skills).
Care Navigation and Correspondence Management Masterclass – Online at learner’s own pace – 2.5 hours
This Masterclass provides learners with a detailed understanding of the role of care navigators and an appreciation of the importance of effective correspondence management in general practice.
Objectives
On completion, learners will be thoroughly prepared and able to work through the competency framework document, enabling them to be effective care navigators.
