Becoming a Successful GP

This modular course is comprised of five modules, covering the key subjects needed to become a successful GP. Delegates will learn about general practice in the wider NHS context, the operational and strategic complexities of primary care, whilst gaining an understanding of the financial landscape of primary care.

Objectives

• To understand the structure of primary care, focusing on Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), Primary Care Networks (PCNs), partnerships, and patient populations
• To learn the significance of strategic, business and succession planning and the need for effective communication.
• To gain an overview of the need for compliance in general practice including Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements, training and premises.
• To understanding how finance works in general practice including income streams, claims, partnership finance and practice accounts.
• The final module is a development session which offers a recap of modules 1 to 4, determines the need for further training, and what that training may entail.
