Safeguarding Children (Level 1)

Overview

Safeguarding Children Level 1 is the minimum level required for all staff working in healthcare. This course explains to learners how to recognise the signs that may indicate child maltreatment, including abuse, neglect and harm and how to raise concerns.

This mandatory training course has been aligned to the Skills for Health Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF).

Objectives

1. Understand the legislation that underpins child safeguarding
2. Understand the four main categories of child abuse
3. Gain an overview of the terminology associated with safeguarding children
4. Learn how to recognise potential indicators of child maltreatment
5. Know how to raise a safeguarding concern
