Safeguarding Adults (Level 3)

Overview

Adult Safeguarding Level 3 is for registered healthcare staff who have a responsibility to assess, plan, evaluate or intervene where there are safeguarding concerns. This course outlines the learner’s responsibilities at this level and how operating at this level involves an enhanced degree of understanding.

This mandatory training course has been aligned to the Skills for Health Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF).

Objectives

1. Recognise the long-term impact that abuse has on patients
2. Know how to identify adults who may be experiencing various types of abuse
3. Learn about multi-agency safeguarding arrangements and the associated benefits
4. Understand the Mental Capacity Act and the need to make capacity assessments / best interest decisions
5. Appreciate the need to share information to protect adults at risk
