Safeguarding Adults (Level 2)

Overview

Adult Safeguarding Level 2 is required for all clinical staff and GP practice managers who have regular contact with patients, their families and/or their carers. This course explains to learners how to address any immediate safeguarding issues and how to make the necessary referrals to reduce the risk of abuse, harm or neglect.

This mandatory training course has been aligned to the Skills for Health Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF).

Objectives

1. Understand what is meant by abuse and neglect
2. Recognise what constitutes harm in adult safeguarding
3. Gain an understanding of the signs of abuse
4. Understand individual and collective responsibilities
5. Learn the need for accurate record-keeping in relation to safeguarding concerns
6. Be aware of when and why it is appropriate to share information
