Resuscitation - Paediatric Basic Life Support

Overview

This course will provide learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to effectively carry out basic life support on children and infants, including the use of an automated external defibrillator.

This mandatory training course has been aligned to the Skills for Health Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF).

Objectives

1. Learn how to deal with an unconscious child
2. Understand what a cardiac arrest is and the common causes
3. Learn the chain of survival
4. Learn how to perform CPR
5. Understand / learn how to use a defibrillator
6. Learn how to deal with a child who is choking

Who is this course for?

All staff working in general practice
