Moving and Handling Level 2 (Clinical staff)

Overview

This short course is aimed at clinical staff and explains to learners the need to ensure they adopt good moving and handling techniques when working in general practice. The course advises how injuries can be prevented if the correct techniques are followed. Please note, the course revisits all of the information provided at Level 1.

This mandatory training course has been aligned to the Skills for Health Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF)

Objectives

1. Understand the terminology associated with manual handling
2. Learn about employer and employee responsibilities including current legislation
3. Understand how to conduct a risk assessment in relation to moving and handling
4. Gain an overview of musculoskeletal disorders and how to avoid them
5. Learn the correct patient-handling techniques
