Overview

This course explains the processes that are crucial to ensuring the prevention of healthcare-associated infections. It also investigates the standards of infection prevention, including cleanliness, that are required in general practice. The course is aimed at those working in non-clinical roles.

This mandatory training course has been aligned to the Skills for Health Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF).

Objectives

1. Gain an overview of infection prevention and control in general practice
2. Learn about the chain of infection and how it can be broken
3. Recognise the preventative measures that can be taken to mitigate the risk of infection
