Practice Manager

We look forward to welcoming a new practice manager following the current long-serving manager’s retirement. We are a friendly urban teaching and training practice with a growing patient list and a well-integrated, well-functioning team with low staff turnover.

The manager is the keystone of the practice, responsible for leading day-to-day administration and maintaining good working relationships within the practice, with patients and with other organizations. The manager works closely with the staff and partners to deal with any eventualities as they arise and plan and implement practice development. In the next few years we anticipate relocating the surgery to the planned Wonford Health and Wellbeing Centre on land adjacent to the current premises, a genuinely exciting opportunity to improve services for the local population and invest in the future of the practice.

The new manager will be caring, good with people, flexible, self-motivated, organized and able to delegate, balancing autonomy with team-working. S/he will have good literacy, numeracy and IT skills and management experience. Relevant qualifications and experience in business, finance and the NHS would be desirable.
