The Cottons Medical Centre is a single site GMS practice on the outskirts of the small market town of Raunds in Northamptonshire. The practice population is 9950 and the clinical team consists of 5 GPs, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses and a Health Care Assistant. It is conveniently situated among rolling countryside on the A45 midway between the A1 and the M1, some 40 minutes from Northampton or Peterborough. The well-appointed Medical Centre was built in 1998 and offers spacious air-conditioned accommodation. We are a forward looking practice currently looking to increase the size of our surgery by building an extension, due to be completed in 2020, to cope with increasing patient numbers. We are a training practice which currently trains a GP registrar and medical students from Cambridge University.

An opportunity has arisen for the recruitment a full time Practice Manager. The previous Practice Manager will be assuming the role of part-time Finance Manager, with responsibility for project management of the surgery extension for a one year period; thereafter the responsibility for financial management will revert to the Practice Manager. We are looking for an accomplished practice manager, ideally with previous experience of business management who is committed, dynamic and motivated. They will need to undertake operational management, contribute to strategic management and have the vision to work with the Partners to develop the services to improve patient care ensuring that the practice reaches its full potential. Previous experience in Primary Care is desirable, but not essential.

  • Leadership Skills
  • Ability to interact with diverse groups in professional meetings
