    About:
The CQC are increasingly asking practices to demonstrate that the care that they provide is both effective and safe. In addition, all GPs and nurses must now show, via revalidation, that they participate in a regular quality improvement project to show appraisers that they review care and ensure it meets best practice. Clinical audit is an established quality improvement technique that identifies areas for improvement and showcases exemplary care. Interestingly, recent CQC reports have noted that clinical audit is often sub-standard. Typical problem areas noted by the CQC include: practices not adopting an annual clinical audit programme, poor methodology, incomplete audit projects, etc.

This one-day accredited course will help practice managers and clinicians to ensure they deliver first-class clinical audit that goes above and beyond CQC expectations. The course will focus on best practice in clinical audit and provide examples of simple and complex clinical audit projects that could be undertaken in the practice.

The course is practical, interactive, interesting and fun. The key aim is to ensure that practices get the most out of their clinical audit work, e.g. meeting CQC and revalidation requirements, using audit to focus on cost-effectiveness, exploring possible time and cost savings via audit, etc.
