Have you ever longed to master the dark art of claiming ‘personally administered’ items? If so, we might have just the thing for you!
Claiming personally administered (PA) items can be fraught with difficulty. For example, do you know what you can claim and how much you’ll be paid? Do you know whether you can supply PA items and not make a loss?
Our new PPA toolkit makes checking your reimbursement straightforward. We have an easy-to-follow free eLearning guide that will help you understand the process fully, ensuring you don’t lose money on PA items while you’re busy looking after your patients. You can access the free eLearning course in the HUB, you’ll just need to enrol yourself onto the course in the usual way. If you don’t have a HUB account, you can sign up for free here.
We have even created a powerful tool that will calculate what your ‘reclaim’ should be. It remembers items for which you’ve claimed in the past, updates the prices monthly and saves you a great deal of time by calculating your ‘reclaim’ for you. All you need to do is check that your payment is correct.
The first time you use the tool, you can search our database for each drug or medicine for which you usually claim. One brilliant feature displays the expected cost price of the drug, if it is different to the reimbursement rate, so you can see at a glance whether you’re likely to be paying more than you are receiving as a reimbursement. You can even check whether things you’ve never considered claiming for previously can be claimed. The list might surprise you! When you come to claim next time, the tool will remember the items you’ve claimed before, so all you’ll need to do is update the quantities and you’re done. The PPA toolkit should save you so much time when checking claims. Moreover, most practices will notice a significant improvement in their costs and reimbursements by following our simple eLearning course: Understanding Personally Administered Items (PPA claims).
