Practices encouraged to use free NHS Jobs advertising to attract nurses

It is no secret that nurses are in short supply, so as part of its ‘We Are The NHS’ recruitment drive NHS England and NHS Improvement has launched a new website to boost applications for practice nursing vacancies.

The new site – gpnursing.jobs.nhs.uk – interlocks with NHS Jobs and collates practice nursing vacancies even if they have different job titles. Potential applicants can quickly filter to find local roles as a General Practice Nurse, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Nurse Associate and Health Care Support Workers.

The site also includes information about General Practice Nursing training including return-to-practice courses which prepare previously qualified nurses to enter General Practice for the first time. As well as helping practices to attract a pool of qualified candidates, the aim is to raise the profile of General Practice Nursing as a career and enable prospective future General Practice nurses to research their options.

For adverts to be promoted on the website they must be uploaded onto NHS Jobs, which is free for GP practices. To open an NHS Jobs account or for technical support call 01443 443827 or email: [email protected]

For a ‘how to’ guide to upload your vacancies (include some info from attached guide and link to it here: NHS Jobs current service vacancy creation user guide for GPs and CAS users (PDF: 766KB).
