Three practices in Surrey have become the latest to join a super-partnership based in Birmingham, it has been revealed.
The Modality Partnership now extends from the West Midlands to Humberside, Yorkshire and Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire – as well as Surrey.
The three Surrey practices, Birchwood Medical, Smallfield Surgery and Townhill Medical, have 35,000 patients between them while Modality is now responsible for more than 300,000 patients.
A message to patients at the Townhill Practice, in Caterham, says: “We strongly believe that being part of a larger super-partnership makes our practice more stable and resilient for the future. It enables us to provide better patient care with the advantages of working at scale and collaboratively to pool resources & share best practice.
“We can only begin to make these changes by working as a larger group of practices. We believe that working together we can harness the power of our talented teams to make healthcare across East Surrey excellent.”
Meanwhile Modality chief executive Naresh Rati told the Health Service Journal: “It is fantastic to find more and more likeminded local GPs who want to come together to transform general practice in their local area, for the benefit of their staff and patients alike.”
