Mandatory training requirements in General Practice

There has been some interest recently in the forum about training requirements in general practice, with questions regarding the training requirements for both administrative and clinical staff. In light of these discussions, I’ve produced a Staff Development Policy [PLUS] for adaptation by practices which will ensure that they have the necessary competencies to undertake the roles for which they are employed to do.

Surprisingly across this sector there are many variations as to what is deemed mandatory, what is statutory and what is a nice to have. To help understand some of the terminology and answer some of the questions asked by members, I’ve produced a short video below, aimed at helping you understand the training requirements for your practice.

It would be useful for everyone if you could leave a comment or question about training, what confuses you, how you determine what is necessary and I’ll then provide feedback in video format just like I have for the GDPR.

I look forward to your posts.
