How to address recruitment stress!

If there’s one task that can make an already difficult job even more difficult, it’s recruitment! Whether you’re a partner hoping to fill a practice manager vacancy, or a PM looking for a replacement or a deputy, your goal is to find not only the best candidate for the role but someone who will fit into your team and become an integral part of your organisation. And if you don’t reach the right people with your advert, then it will be even harder to appoint someone who fits the bill.

Let’s face it, recruiting takes time and resources that a busy PM doesn’t have! You can state “five years’ NHS experience” in your job advert, you can say that “primary care knowledge is essential”, but unless the right audience is seeing your advert, you may end up attracting applications from people who really shouldn’t have bothered! It can be disheartening to look at a pile of applications and struggle to find any that meet the role’s criteria. Additionally, recruiting the wrong candidate – one who isn’t the best of the bunch or perhaps one who’s an ‘almost fit’ – can cost more time and money in the long run as they may not even complete their trial period.

So why not take the guesswork out of the process? Instead of trying to predict where you should advertise the post, why not direct your recruitment campaigns at an already motivated practice manager community? Practice Index is the leading UK site dedicated to practice managers. As a crucial hub for NHS GP practice managers, the forum now attracts over 12,500 active members. Having taken advantage of our training and resources, we know that site members are committed to their roles and improving their profession. So, when you’re recruiting for a PM or assistant PM in your practice, these are the very people you need to reach! And unlike other job sites, if you send your job advert to Practice Index, it won’t get lost among piles of pharmacist, sessional GP and receptionist roles; it will be placed directly in front of the people you want to attract.

We know exactly what your to-do list looks like (scary!), so we want to take the stress out of recruitment. Simply send us your advert and any relevant files (job descriptions, etc.), and we’ll do the rest. Then just wait for the applications to come straight to your inbox.

For a limited time only, you’ll be entitled to a special offer when you advertise with us; when you book a basic job listing during October, we’ll upgrade your advert with a free social media package.
