Any studies or training with Syder & Young is a sensible investment in the future. Having worked in healthcare for over 12 years now I have come across a variety of training services. None were as well prepared, thorough and relevant to the work environment. Trainers are highly experienced in their field and excel at engaging student participation. Materials provided are timely and up to date. At every juncture in-depth feedback on progress is provided to monitor one's own performance. Syder & Young are always my first choice of training provider and I would recommend their services to anyone seeking to improve their own skills or those of their workforce.

I completed the City & Guilds Level 5 Diploma in Primary Care & Health Management with Syder & Young Ltd in 2012 and after reviewing other similar companies, am pleased I decided to study with them. The diploma took two years to complete but as I was working full time as a GP Practice Manager at the time, found this longer course more suited to me. Over the two years, there were seven assignments to complete and we had approximately 12 study days at Cranford University near Milton Keynes to attend. Pauline Young was our main tutor and I cannot praise her enough. She taught each subject clearly and explained exactly what we needed to do to pass each assignment. The content of the study days and guides we were provided with were always helpful and guided us to what we needed to do. Even though there were times when many of us felt overwhelmed with study - this is a Level 5 diploma so the assignments needed significant input and research - Pauline encouraged us to keep going and helped us whenever she could, often putting herself out. In the end we all passed and gained distinctions and merits for our assignments. It is a reflection of how much we enjoyed this course as all the students have become friends and meet up annually for a social meal out with Pauline always being invited!

Enrolled on the course for Primary Healthcare Management Diploma and was very impressed with the support received. The content of the course was very relevant and has directly assisted me to further my career. Be prepared for a lot of hard work, but it will be worth it in the end!

High quality, relevant training for all levels of staff from your new receptionist to Practice/Business Managers. Pauline Young is an excellent presenter and teacher and pushes her students to levels you never thought you could achieve! Syder & Young have had a profound effect on not just my career but my own professional development, I was given the knowledge and management tools and techniques that allowed me to take big steps in my career and I still use these techniques to this day. There is a saying locally amongst PMs that we are 'Pauline trained' if we attained our PM Diploma with Syder & Young- this is said with pride as it actually means we had received good high quality training and it is recognised by our peers as this. If you are looking for high quality training then look no further, start the journey with Syder & Young, it will be a challenging journey but that is because they are 'the best'!!!

Fantastic support from Pauline and Barry when we wer in the very difficult situation of finding ourselves with no Practice Manager. Pauline came to the surgery to really understand the individual circumstances of our practice and spent time meeting both partners and senior staff to get a feel for the business. They organised everything from advertising to job descriptions and the interview process - including supporitng us by leading the interview process over 3 days. I can't recommend them highly enough - they are trustworthy, efficient, friendly and excellent value for money. If you need to recruit a manager - look no further - we are delighted we picked up the phone to them!

About three years ago I took part in the 2-year AMSPAR diploma training for Practice Managers. Pauline Young was our trainer. We were a small group of about 12 who worked together 4-5 times a term for two years. I found Pauline to be, to be quite frank, inspirational in making me believe that I could do this and in honing my skillset and raising my personal confidence. The training was very well organised and thorough and I truly believe that if I'd met Pauline in my early twenties, I could have become Prime Minister! I would recommend her and Syder and Young to anyone.

I completed my Diploma in Primary Care Management in 2011. This was absolutely essential if you want to become a successful and competent manager. The tutors are highly experienced and are so supportive in your learning. The course was such fun but at the same time you learnt everything you needed to know. Thanks to Pauline Young I am now a successful Practice Manager.
